Cumbersome Catalog - Riding the River with The Guide
When growing up I couldn't wait to grow up. Be done with school, away from my parents, and free to make money. All I wanted was to get out of the pressure that was keeping me down. To be an adult was so simple and freeing. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I knew I'd have a wife, we'd have each other, and we'd be okay. I wouldn't have to worry about all the problems these other people would have to deal with because I would do things the right way the first time.
I was so confident and determined.
But now, with adulthood looming large overhead, through many struggles and painful experiences brought on through my own stupid mistakes; I just don't know anymore. Everything is so much messier and more complex than I have ever imagined.
I think the lesson to be learned is that nothing is easy. So, stop expecting immediate perfection. Yes, things are messy. Yes, life is hard. But that's okay. That's just life and it's good that it's like that. If it were better for life to work differently then don't you think that's how it would work? God knows what's best and if you really want things to be easier, then just trust that. Life won't change to better suit you so all you can do is change your outlook and reaction to it. Make the world a better place one positive reaction at a time. And if you need help then ask God for assistance and HE'll help you.
James 1:2-8
